CLASSES

SATURDAY BEGINNER *
* Class price includes complimentary admission to the 10:00 am public skating session.
Instruction 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Public Skating 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Price $8.00 (Parent Skates for $2.00 with paid child)

Skaters will learn the following sets of skills:
VIP SKATER: New skaters/non-skaters learn safety techniques, correct posture, balancing on skates and how to roll.

YELLOW GROUP: While reinforcing correct body posture, skaters will learn basic skills such as starting/stopping, scissors, balancing on one foot, edging and shoot the duck.

GREEN GROUP: While continuing and strenthening basic skills previously learned, the skater will be introduced to backward skating.


TUESDAY ADULT CLASS
Instruction 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Public Skating 10:00 am - 12:30 pm
Price $8.00

Open to all skaters over 18 years of age. The Tuesday Adult Class focuses on the basics of dance skating. Admission includes the Public Session featuring organ dance music at 10:00 am.



COMPETITIVE CLUB & PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

Private lessons are available to all skaters regardless of the level of skating ability. Private instruction lessons require a facility fee of $7.00 in addition to the instructor's fee.

Central Florida Skating Club (CFSC)
Competitive Figure Skating Club

"The purpose of the CFSC is to educate, develop and advance its members in all aspects of roller skating." Members of the Club represent Semoran Skateway and the Central Florida Skating Club and local, regional and national USA Roller Sports sanctioned competitions.

Club Members can compete in various roller figure skating disciplines including dance, figures or freestyle. They can also work on their RSA Achievement Tests from the bronze to gold levels.

More information on the Central Florida Skating Club is available at the Semoran Skateway office or from one of the coaches/instructors.
COACHING STAFF
USARS Certified Professionals

Anthony Berger, Skating School Director, is a USA Roller Sports Advanced Certified Coach. He is the coach of many national champion skaters and his students have represented the USA on the World and Pan American teams. Tony has been honored by the Southern Region as a multiple winner of the Coach of the Year award. In 2003, he was selected as the United States Olympic Committee Roller Sports Developmental Coach of the Year. He is skilled in working with all levels of skaters from the beginner to the world class athlete.

Sharon King is a member of a roler skating family and has been skating since the age of 2. She has been a USA Roller Sports Certified Instructor for 12 years. Sharon has been a regional and national champion in solo dance, team dance and figures. She has had students compete at the regional and national level, with several placing or winning at the national championships. Sharon teaches students of all ages and is qualified to teach all of the various skating disciplines.

Michael Vickey began coaching at Semoran Skateway in 1989 after skating as a competitor since the rink's opening in 1978. He has been a national competitor in all disciplines of roller figure skating. Michael Vickey served as a member of the US National Judges Panel from 1983 to 1988. During his years at Semoran Skateway he has coached skaters of all ages from beginners to national champions. Michael has coached 18 national champions in figure skating, dance skating, freeskating and pairs. In 1998, he was named Southern Region Coach of the year.
